Está basado en una aplicación de apple que se llama Quicksilver, y permite lanzar aplicaciones, abrir páginas web, cargar páginas web, y hacer toda una serie de operaciones de forma simple con secuencias de teclas de ésta manera es como que el menú de aplicaciones.
Cuando Gnome-DO está instalado y corriendo en el sistema se invoca a la aplicación con la combinación de teclas SUPER + BARRA ESPACIADORA.

It is based on Apple´s Quicksilver, and makes posible to launch aplications, open websites, and DO many operations in a simple way by using keystrokes combinations, in a way this aplication can replace the aplication menu. Once gnome-GO is installed and running on the system, it is called with SUPER + SPACEBAR combination keypressed.

En éste caso hay 2 ventanas de firefox abiertas en el escritorio.

In this case, I have 2 firefox windows on my desktop

1 - escribir "FI" y gnome-do posee un predictivo que nos indica con el icono (de la izquierda) la aplicación que comienza con ésas letras (podemos ser más específicos y escribir FIREFOX, aunque ya con FI es suficiente).
2 - presionar tecla TAB ( pasa al cuadro de la derecha).
3 - Escribir MI, y gnome do indica minimizar como la primera acción disponible.
4 - presionar la tecla ENTER.

2 - Press TAB key (it switchs to the right frame).
3 - we have to minimize so write "MI" and it predicts the action.

Como vemos, todas las ventanas de Firefox fueron minimizadas, ésto no anula la necesidad de utilizar los botones de las ventanas pero a veces cuando tenems DEMASIADAS ventanas como es el caso de CINELERRA, un programa de edición de vídeo compuesto de 4 paneles flotantes, o GIMP donde cada imagen es una ventana distinta, poder minimizarlas todas con un simple comando (SUPER+ESPACIO) + "gim" + "min" + ENTER.

AS can be seen in the image, all the firefox windows were minimzed, which doesn´t mean you won´t use the minimize botons on the window anymore, but it´s nice to be able to minimize when you have too many of them floating on our workspace, that´s the case of CINELERRA, a video editing app which has floating 4 panels, or GIMP an app which open an image on a different window, so control it´s cool to control them by (SUPER+SPACE) + "gim" + "min"+ ENTER.

Voy a buscar mi ciudad en google maps, tradicionalmente debería ir al menú de programas, abrir firefox, buscar GOOGLE MAPS en sus favoritos o sino recordar cual era la dirección... sino poner google.com y googlear google maps, y cuando tenemos el resultado buscar mi ciudad "mar del plata, argentina"... mucho lio y me da fiaca, veamos como hacer eso mismo con gnome-do en 3 pasos.

I would have to open firefox from the app menu, search google maps on my bookmarks, if not there I should remember the web adress... if I coundn´t I should google: "GOOGLE MAPS", once in the results page, click on the link, and then write "mar del plata, argentina"... too many steps for a lazy person, let´s see how to do this with gnome-do in 3 steps.

2 - presionar la tecla TAB (salta el control al cuadro de la derecha).

Escribir la ciudad a buscar en google maps y presionar enter.

estos son todos los datos que necesita gnome-do, abre firefox con google maps y la ciudad marcada, o si ya hay una ventana de firefox abierta crea una nueva solapa con ésta nueva ubicación.

These are the data needed for searching on google maps using gnome-do, it launches firefox with the map in it, or if it was already lauched and running, creates a new tab with the map location.

Voy a enviar archivos al reproductor de música Rythmbox.
1 - escribir la carpeta base en mi caso "/disco1"
2 - presionar la tecla de cursor ABAJO para desplegar el menú con las subcarpetas dentro de /disco1
3 - presionar la tecla de cursor DERECHA para entrar en una sub carpeta (mp3 en este caso) o la tecla IZQUIERDA para subir a una carpeta superior.

Send Files to the Rythmbox music player.
1 - write the bin name "/disco1" in my case
2 - Press down cursor key to open the menu, which contains the sub-bins inside /disco1
3 - Press right cursor key to open the sub-bin menu inside /disco1

4 -presionar TAB cuando se llega al archivo deseado.

5 - presionar la tecla de cursor ABAJO hasta la opción ABRIR CON.
6 - Presionar la tecla TAB para saltar al tercer cuadro de la derecha.

7 - presionar ABAJO para buscar entre las aplicaciones o escribir "repro" (gnome-do predicirá REPRODUCTOR DE MUSICA RYTHMBOX), o bien "rythmbox".
8 - Presionar enter.

Como vemos, es sólo cuestión de práctica hasta que empecemos a dominar gnome-do pero sin dudas permite trabajar más rápido sin necesidad de esperar a que ejecute una aplicación para abrir archivos, gnome-do posee posibilidades muy diversas y puede ser expandida por medio de plug-ins.

As can be seen, It´s just practice until getting the gnome-do mastered, but it will help to work faster, and its capabilities may be improved by using plugins. If you still don´t have it installed on your ubuntu system, these are the repositories:
